Kayla lives in Kansas City and works for Penguin Random House. She's been in the publishing industry since 2013. In that time, Kayla has gained experience in every genre, from children's books and highly illustrated nonfiction to literary fiction and YA. As a production editor for Vintage Books/Anchor Books, she manages dozens of high-priority titles from prestigious authors each year.

 

Kayla specializes in proofreading, copy editing, line editing, and manuscript formatting, all while maintaining respect to Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Editors often request her for projects requiring a keen eye and a sensitive, thoughtful approach. She is particularly passionate about mental health and illness, trauma, and disability.
