After graduating from the University of Kansas in 2014 with English and journalism degrees, Kayla attended NYU's Summer Publishing Institute. Now she works as a production editor for Andrews McMeel Publishing.

She's been in the publishing industry for more than ten years and has experience in every genre, from children's and graphic novels to nonfiction and literary fiction. Her specialties include copyediting, proofreading, and manuscript formatting. She is passionate about mental health and illness, trauma, and disability.
